The easiest way to do the following is to pull the door off its hinges beforehand and lay it on a flat surface. Unfortunately, not every type of fireplace/furnace has this option.

1. First, unscrew the screws holding the metal plates that are designed to hold the glass in the door. The screws may be baked, in which case you should spray them with WD-40 and wait about 15-20 minutes, then, pressing the screwdriver firmly against the screw, try to unscrew them again. If such treatment does not help then it will be necessary to cut off the screws. If the thread is in the mounting bracket, then it is enough to make the appropriate brackets (we make mounting brackets of any type). However, if the thread is in the door frame, then the hole must be reamed and re-threaded (we perform such a service comprehensively).

2. Then we remove the damaged glass from the frame and carefully remove its remains.

3. If the old sealing tape is in good condition then there is no need to replace it. However, if it is worn out then we remove it, paying attention to where it is glued so that when glueing it later there will be no problem.

4. We clean and degrease the place where the tape will be glued.

5. We apply the new glass seal to the door by peeling off the layer of paper protecting the adhesive from the sealing tape, and then apply the tape where the old one was previously applied. We glue the tape from one side to the other, not stretching it and pressing it firmly in each place to the door (we never use heat-resistant silicones to seal the glass)

6. We glue the ceramic pads on the mounting feet, which are included in the kit as an approximately 10-centimetre strip. It should be cut to the width of the fixing paws (sections of about 2 cm each), then peel off the layer of paper protecting the glue and stick it on the plane of the paw, which will adhere to the glass. The glass must not touch the steel at any point.

7. Carefully place the new glass in the door so that it overlaps each edge of the opening 0.5-1.5 cm. It is important that the glass on each side has a slight clearance and nowhere in contact with the steel.

8. The last step is to screw on the mounting feet that hold the glass in the door. Tightening should be done with feeling, after you feel more resistance it is a good idea to undo the screw by 1/4 or 1/2 turn so that there is no possibility of tension. Do not tighten the screws with all the force!
